A couple weeks ago I got the opportunity to shoot a wedding in Asheville. If you know my husband and I at all you know we love Asheville. All in one year we got engaged on Looking Glass Rock, spent my 25th birthday there (as well as running from a hurricane), and spent our honeymoon there.
You can say it holds a special place in our heart. Getting to photograph and be a part of it was a dream come true. Especially at this venue.
The wedding was at Highland Brewing on the rooftop, which is usually a rooftop bar with the most spectacular view of the mountains. Their wedding was laid-back and the mountains was the perfect compliment.
They made their guests feel right at home with pre-wedding drinks. I mean at a brewery what else could you expect. Tim, who is in a band had the best musical selections with a violin and guitar player for pre-ceremony entertainment.
There ceremony included a few close friends and their dog, something that always gets me excited! The ceremony was short and sweet before happy hour started as we quickly got pictures.
Most of the time as a photographer you long for the couples that want to take their time getting photos done before joining their guests at the reception, but I couldn’t help but admire their dedication to enjoying their wedding night with close friends and family.
We spent as few time as we could on their photos, and sometimes guys that turns out far better than planned.
If you are looking to have a good time with an amazing view, in an amazing city you have to check out Highland Brewing. Congrats Laura and Tim, here’s to many years of happiness together!
